Established in 1984, Eugene IHS is an alternative school in international studies. Eugene IHS is a four-year interdisciplinary curriculum focused on the study of nations, their cultures, history, artistic expression, and political, economic, and belief systems. IHS students take a core curriculum in international studies during half of the school day. During the other half, the students take math, sciences, arts and foreign languages in the host school. 2022-2023 FRENCH IMMERSION PROGRAM

@ South Eugene & International High School

The French Immersion Program at South Eugene High School and Eugene International High School is distinguished as one of few public immersion high schools in the United States and is nationally recognized for academic excellence. It is an alternative pathway in the Eugene 4j School District, focused on developing fluency and using French in interdisciplinary studies. French Immersion is a rigorous program in which students complete up to 50% of coursework in French over thirteen years. In oral and written fluency most French Immersion students already perform at levels equivalent to university-level French majors. French Immersion students have demonstrated exceptional commitment and perseverance in this challenging program.
