SENIORS: Mark your Calendars!

APRIL 9: Mandatory Senior Student Meeting at 10:30am in the Cafeteria.

APRIL 21: Your On-Stage Seating Selection Begins for GRADUATION!

A graduation tradition unique to South is that each senior is allowed to choose their own seat on the Hult Center Stage for commencement. But… before you are cleared to choose your seat location on April 21st, you must complete three check-out tasks in advance. You will not be permitted to choose your seating until all tasks are complete!

When you return from spring break, begin by checking in with Tiffany in the room 19 textbook office. Then swing by and talk with Julie in the library. They will each separately verify that you do not have any outstanding fees or books that need to be returned. Then, stay tuned for an online senior survey from Lori Sauter of the College and Career Center.

Senior students, do not forget to attend the April 9th meeting in the cafeteria where you will learn everything there is to know about graduation.

47 in-school days left to go, Seniors… Enjoy every moment!

TAX PREPARATION EVENT FOR STUDENTS ON APRIL 3RD

Oregon State University’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free, IRS-certified tax preparation services to students and other individuals with low to moderate income. We are looking forward to bringing these services to South Eugene High School on Friday, April 3.  In this event, students will have the opportunity to prepare their own tax returns using our free software and with the guidance of OSU VITA team members. This is a valuable life skill that could result in putting dollars back into their pockets! Many students working part-time or seasonally don't realize that even though they are not required to file, it is often in their benefit to do so. In order to participate, students will need to bring their laptop, a photo id, their social security number, and any W-2's, 1099's, or other tax documents. They also need to know if a parent is claiming any unearned income they may have received.

4J DISTRICT HONORS DESIGNATION

The District Honors program recognizes all 4j high school students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and contribute service to their community. Any student with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 who has logged 120 hours of verified service before May 1st of their senior year is eligible to receive this designation on their high school diploma. Volunteer log sheets can be obtained in the counseling office and students can log hours beginning in their freshman year. If you are a senior, please return your completed logs to Jessica before May 1st
