Dear South Eugene Students and Families,

With the school year quickly approaching, I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the last weeks of summer.

This year, we will not be holding a traditional back-to-school “registration” day at South Eugene High School. We have made this decision with the ease and convenience of our students and families in mind. Instead, all necessary forms & information are now available on our website, allowing you to complete the process at your own pace.

For those who prefer to complete forms in person, pay fees by check, or need other additional assistance, we will have staff available at the school on September 2nd from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, but everything you need is readily available on our ‘Getting Started at South’ webpage and is also outlined below:

Student Contact & Emergency Information

Has your address or phone number changed since your student enrolled in 4J? Have you reviewed your emergency contacts in recent years to make sure they are still the best options for your family? We encourage all parents to review these important details in ParentVUE and contact the school with any updates. Please email Melinda at shull@4j.lane.edu with changes, or give us a call if you need assistance accessing ParentVUE.

Fees:

In order to know what fees that students may need to pay, we have a simple Fee Sheet for your reference, including a link to SchoolPay. Please note that the ‘General School Donation’ fund is invaluable in supporting our high-quality elective and extracurricular programming; your tax deductible donation is greatly appreciated and goes a long way in our efforts to maintain the Axe standard of excellence.

Parking:
If students are planning to park vehicles at South, they must have a parking pass. This Parking Agreement must be completed prior to purchasing a parking pass. 

Bus Pass:
LTD bus passes are free for all 4J students. Bus passes from last year expire October 15th; they should automatically renew at that time, but we can also verify/manually renew them at South. New bus passes can be requested here. 

Lockers:
Lockers are assigned to students upon request only, using this Locker Request Form. Students must provide their own lock. Using a locker that is not assigned by the office will result in locks being destroyed and contents being removed.

Forms:

Required Annual Notices and Required Annual Permissions must be completed for every student each year. Printed forms can be submitted in the main office, or scanned & emailed to Melinda at shull@4j.lane.edu 

Laptops:

Students who do not currently have laptops checked out will be receiving information about multiple technology distribution opportunities when school begins. Families of 2025-2026 11th graders will be receiving more information shortly. 

Student Schedules 

Class schedules will be accessible in StudentVue and ParentVue very soon; a separate communication will be sent when schedules are available. If you need assistance accessing your ParentVue account, please email Eric at elligott_e@4j.lane.edu. Canvas information and resources are available here.
