Share Your Thoughts on 24th Avenue!
The City of Eugene is exploring adding protected bike lanes to 24th Avenue from Amazon Path to Agate Street. Protected bike lanes would add more space and physical protection between people biking and people driving. This project would require removing the on-street parking between Hilyard Street and Agate Street.

To share your thoughts, please:
  • Take the online survey (open through December 20th): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VWN7D7W,
  • Or attend a community meeting at Roosevelt Middle School on Tuesday, December 10 from 6-7pm. City staff will give a presentation followed by time for discussion and questions.

Senior Graduation Party
It’s time to start preparing for the graduation party for the class of 2025! We are seeking help with planning and implementing the party which usually occurs the night of graduation. Junior parents are typically tasked with this big project but any parents are welcome! Please contact Rebecca Trojan at rlwtrojan@yahoo.com or show up at 16 tons on December 3 at 5:30.

The Senior Graduation Party is not a school sponsored event. Organized by South parents in collabortation with Friends of South, a graduation party will be held on the night of graduation. The long-standing tradition provides a safe space for graduates to gather and celebrate for their final night as high school students.

FAFSA completion begins with the creation of your FSA ID. College-bound seniors and one or both parents create their own separate FSA IDs. Use this tool to find out exactly who in your family should create an FSA ID, and create it now to avoid running into problems later when you’re hurrying to submit your FAFSA. This is doubly true for parents without social security numbers, who tend to encounter more system glitches. (Yes, the actual FAFSA is now available.)

Aid for college-bound students: Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch can receive a fee reduction or waiver for SAT, ACT, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests. They also can receive free additional score reports for some tests and can request a waiver or deferral of application fees at many colleges. Talk to your counselor or visit the College/Career Center to learn more.

Applying to OSU? SEHS journalism teacher, Bobbie Willis, has offered to share her insights as the parent of an OSU freshman. Reach out to her with your questions at willis_b@4j.lane.edu.
