PURPLE PACKET
Seniors!!! Are you planning to apply to a 4 year college? If so, you must complete a purple packet which can be picked up in the counseling office. 

PreACT
PreACT! On Thursday, October 12th we have our annual College and Career Readiness Day. On that day all 10th graders will take the PreACT starting at 8:30. Test room assignments will be posted outside the counseling office.  Please bring a #2 pencil and calculator and see Michael Leahy in counseling with questions about the PreACT.

COLLEGE VISIT
Today, we have two college visits. The Scripps College visit is taking place now, at 10:10 in the College and Career Center. Then at 10:55, the University of California-Santa Barbara will hold a virtual visit. You’re welcome to attend that in the College and Career Center, as well. Tomorrow, a rep from Emerson College will visit at 10:25, and Reed College will be here at 12:45. Come learn about your college options!

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS
College and Career Readiness Day is coming up this Thursday, October 12th. School will start at 8:30 and end at noon when lunch will be served. Students will NOT go to regular classes that day. Ninth graders will spend the morning in workshops and activities. Sophomores will take the Pre-ACT. Juniors who registered will be taking the PSAT, while all seniors and non-testing juniors participate in college and career webinars and activities. All students’ room assignments will be posted around the school, including outside the counseling center, and can also be found under the Schedule tab in StudentVue on Thursday. All students except sophomores will need their charged laptops. Seniors and non-testing juniors should bring earphones, as well. 

PSAT
Attention Juniors who have pre-registered for the PSAT, please check your Canvas and 4j email with instructions to download the Blue Book app. Downloading your Blue Book is required prior to your PSAT test on Thursday. The PSAT will take place on Thursday from 8:30-noon. Michael Leahy is available in the counseling center with questions prior to the PSAT test.

FOOTBALL
Congratulations to JV football players who defeated North Eugene 32 – 8

RADIO
South Eugene Ham radio club is back! Our first meeting is Tuesday October 10th during lunch in room 523.  The meeting is open to all students, whether you know what Ham radio is or not. Some things we will talk about will include our events for the year and what we want to accomplish, and our timeline for building our brand-new station. Skills that Ham radio can teach include morse code, contesting, helping the public in times of emergency, and engineering our station. We hope to see you there!

MATH
Love math? Interested in thinking deeply? Want to find out more about math competitions like the AMC? Join us for Math Club in room 726 today at lunch. 

GSA
Due to the short week, GSA will not meet this Thursday at lunch but we will meet Wednesday during 2nd period in Room 30. See you there! 

PARKING
Student parking is available in the East lot by the auditorium, and in the West lot by the Gym. The center lot outside the office is strictly for visitors, and the rear lot by the cafeteria is strictly for staff. Beginning tomorrow, parking passes will be checked and fines will be issued for parking violations.
