Announcements for September 25, 2023
CHEER:
Cheer Tryouts are happening after school today and tomorrow, between 4:00 and 5:30. Meet in the small gym at 4:00. Go Axe!
HOMECOMING:
Homecoming is next weekend, and the dance is slated for Saturday night at 8:00pm! If you would like to bring a guest from another school, you must complete a guest request form and have it approved by South administrators AND your guests school administrators. Guest request forms will be available in the main office beginning at LUNCH today. We do have a cap on the number of guest requests available for this event and there is a max of one request per student.
POSTERS:
Attention clubs, affinity groups, and sports teams, from now on, all informational posters and flyers must go through the front office for approval and be hung up by student government in order to keep our hallways neat & tidy! Thanks for helping us
MODEL UN:
Model United Nations. The first Model UN meeting of the year will be held Tuesday during lunch in room 524. All interested students are encouraged to attend as we kick off the new year in MUN.
APPRENTICESHIP:
Are you a budding artist? The Design Arts Apprenticeship Program offers apprenticeship opportunities in graphic, digital, and physical design to Lane County middle and high schoolers. The 10-week program costs only what you can afford to pay. Apply ASAP–applications are due Monday, September 25. That’s this coming Monday!
CLIMATE:
Do you care about the environment? Do you want to make a difference? If so, join EG350, south’s climate activism club, on Wednesdays at lunch in room 416.
DODGEBALL:
If you can dodge a class, you can dodge a ball! Intramural dodge ball team applications are now closed as we have hit the 8 team limit. First games will take place this tuesday and friday in the main gym during lunch. If you want to see some thrilling action and cheer for your classmates, make sure to come to the gym tomorrow during lunch!
GIRLS TENNIS:
Anyone interested in participating in girls tennis this year should attend the informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 9/26 during lunch in Edmund Rivera’s room 4.
COLLEGE REP
Interested in Montana State? Come on down to the college and career center at 2:45 to visit with their rep!
SCHOOL PHOTOS:
If you missed picture day, we have a make-up day this Wednesday, Sept. 27th. Lifetouch will be set up in the gym lobby from 8:30 – 2:30 and you can drop by any time. These are not retakes…this is if you missed picture day. All students must have a photo taken by lifetouch!
