BIPOC: BIPOC Student Gathering NOW (period 3 and lunch) to share your experiences as BIPOC students. See you in the library.

PROM: Promposal competition: submit a video or photo of your promposals to @sehsstugov on instagram for a chance to win free prom tickets. Last day to submit is April 17th!

MODEL: Model UN meets in room 541 today!

NASU: NASU is meeting today at lunch! Room 306.

RADIO: Curious about radio?  At our meeting today, we will discuss why ham radio is used for emergency communications, even in an age where everyone has a cell phone.  Also learn what a “Net” is, and how having fun on the airwaves prepares us for emergencies.  SEHS radio club will meet today in room 415.

CAREER DAY: Hey kids! We’re going on a field trip! Any juniors or seniors interested in participating in LCC’s Hands-On Career Day on April 28th should sign up by March 17. The sign-up form is in South’s most recent e-newsletter. Lori Sauter, in room 7, can also share the form with you and give you more information.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Are you a gamer? Do you play Fortnite, Overwatch2, Rocket League, Valorant, Smash or Chess? How would you like to play in college and earn an esports scholarship? Bushnell University is offering esports scholarships to recruits. Come to the career center this Thursday, March 9th at 12:30 for more information.

LETTER WRITING: Do you like creating art or letter writing? Get volunteer hours during lunch by joining the Letters For Rose club! Letters For Rose meets during lunch today and every Tuesday in room 408.

MOVIE  NIGHT: Student Government will be holding another movie night at the end of the trimester on March 8th to celebrate completing an extra tough term. We will be watching High School Musical in the small theater. It is $5 to enter and we will have free hot chocolate and popcorn!

AUDITIONS: Auditions for the next SEHS talent show will be at lunch, March 13th and 14th in the small theater! To sign up please scan the QR code on the flyers in the hall or search tinyurl.com/southtalent. Finalists will compete in the spring pep assembly!

ORCHESTRA CONCERT: South Eugene Orchestra Programs present, A Night at the Movies!!  Performing tonight at 7pm in the main auditorium. Admission is FREE  Come enjoy a variety of film music from different periods!

SENIORS: Do you know how many days are left until graduation? I’ll give you a hint: Graduation is less than 100 days away now! If you haven’t ordered your cap & gown yet, make it a top priority! 

Also, we will soon be holding auditions for Seniors who wish to give a musical performance or a speech during the 2023 graduation ceremony. If you’re a senior with something you want to say to your whole class and 2,000 guests, whether it be through music or public speaking, start preparing now for auditions in April! Your audition piece must be what you are going to present during the ceremony, and should be under 5 minutes long. More info about audition sign-ups coming soon–see Eric in the Main Office with any questions.

And finally, Seniors! Yearbook Senior Superlatives Nominations are now open. Check your email for the nomination link and submit by midnight Wednesday. The top 3-5 nominees in each category will appear on the ballot out later this week.

SPIRIT STORE: Mark your calendars south, because tomorrow,  Wednesday, the 8th of march, the long awaited South Eugene Spirit Store will host its Grand Opening! Inside this wondrous store located in the cafeteria, you will find many beautiful South items; including vintage shirts, hoodies, backpacks and football helmets. We now have the ability to press  names and numbers onto the apparel you purchase. Merch – perfect for all! From the scary Kessler, to a funny donkey, everyone is welcomed at the spirit store! Make sure to be ready, because on the 8th of march from 8am-4pm, South Eugene will come one step closer to understanding what true joy feels like. Come to the South Eugene Spirit Store!
