Pledge: Students, we welcome you to stand as we recite the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. 

RADIO: “Attention all students!  Do you want to learn about HAM radio and how to get your very own license? Join the radio club for an fun opportunity to hear firsthand from licensed HAM radio operators.  Get all the details you need to start the process. Don’t miss out on this exciting chance to expand your knowledge and gain a new skill. We’ll meet on Tuesday, Feb 21st, at lunch in room 415.  See you there!”

SENIORS: Seniors! Today is round one of the Senior Experience showcases. All Classic Seniors have been assigned a date except for those with CTE agreements. Check your email to confirm your date. We look forward to seeing the Friday presenters in the cafeteria at 2:40pm today.

WRITING CLUB: Writing Club meets today and every Friday in Room 504 during Lunch!

MINDFULNESS: Mindfulness club is happening at lunch in the amazon room today! Come talk, meditate and relax, we are always open to new members!

LACROSSE: The South Eugene Boys Lacrosse team is holding a Player/Parent meeting at 6 pm Wednesday, February 22.  The meeting will take place in the South Eugene Cafeteria.  The season is about to begin, and new players are always welcome!  Play lacrosse at South!

THEATRE: South Eugene Theater presents: Dr Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Come see this new and shocking version of the classic tale. It will be showing tonight, tomorrow, and closing Sunday. Dont walk, RUN to get a ticket, at our website southeugenetheater.com or scan the QR code on one of the posters around the school!

LATINX: Attention everyone!  This coming Tuesday, February 21, is Carnaval!  Carnaval, or “Mardi gras” in French, is a time to celebrate the good things in life, like food, friends, and fun.  Please join Latinx Student Union in Room 29 at lunch on Tuesday, February 21, to learn more about Carnaval, and to celebrate with us.  We’ll have king cake, beads, and we’ll watch the Carnaval parade in Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

LCC: Seniors headed to Lane Community College, be sure to apply to the Lane Foundation Scholarships, due Thursday, March 2nd. Lane has hundreds of thousands of dollars to give away to all types of students. You have to complete step one of your application to Lane in order to apply for the scholarships, so be sure to get started soon. For more information, look at the SEHS scholarship webpage, or see Lori Sauter in room 7.

GSA: GSA will be meeting during lunch on Friday in Room 30. All are welcome. See you there! 

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Calling all juniors and seniors! The application for the Connected Lane County PAID summer internship program opens on Monday, February 20th at 9:00 am. Interns spend five weeks working locally in the industry of their choice. This opportunity is very competitive, so do a good job on your application and submit it soon. For more information, see last Friday’s e-newsletter or visit Lori Sauter in the college and career center.
