Pledge: Students, we welcome you to stand as we recite the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
VALENTINES: Do you want to send a valentine to your sweetheart! Buy a valogram in the main hall for 1$ each. Every valogram bought is one entry into a raffle. You can buy before school, during lunch or after school all this week (6th-10). Make sure you know the room number of their 3rd period. We will distribute the valograms on Valentine’s Day!
GSA: GSA will meet today during lunch in room 30. GSA is having a merch fundraiser! Handprinted hoodies and t-shirts are now available for purchase on SchoolPay! 100% of proceeds will go to South’s GSA, supporting our high school’s Queer student body. Deadline to order is February 15th.
JUNIORS: Hello Classic South Juniors! It’s time to schedule your Junior interview with your counselor. You will review your transcript, chat about summer plans and Senior year courses. Please use the QR code located outside the counseling office to schedule these appointments.
THEATRE: South Eugene Theater presents: Dr Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Come see this new and shocking version of the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It opens tonight, and showing Friday, Saturday and Sunday of both this week and the next. Dont walk, RUN to get a ticket, at our website
FINANCIAL AID: Seniors, need financial aid? Whether you’re headed to a 4-year school, community college, or trade school, the OSAC (pronouced Oh-Sack) scholarships application is a good choice. It’s like the Common App where you fill out a single application that is used for over 600 scholarships. It’s due on March 1st, but if you submit your application by February 15th, you’ll be entered in a drawing for an extra $1,000 scholarship. Find the application in <oregonstudentaid.gov> or contact Lori Sauter in the College and Career Center.
LCC: Seniors headed to Lane Community College, be sure to apply to the Lane Foundation Scholarships, due Thursday, March 2nd. Lane has hundreds of thousands of dollars to give away to all types of students. You have to complete step one of your application to Lane in order to apply for the scholarships, so be sure to get started soon. mindFULLness: Mindfulness club is happening at lunch in the amazon room on Fridays! Come talk, meditate and relax, we are always open to new members!
WRITING CLUB: Writing Club meets today and every Friday in Room 504 during Lunch!
SENIORS: Seniors, listen up! Graduation is still 4 months away, but graduation supplies must be ordered NOW. You need to order your cap & gown ASAP, and graduation announcements must be ordered by next Friday. If you’re not sure if you’ve ordered your cap & gown yet, please stop by the front office TODAY to check with the secretary. Thanks!
