First, a reminder: The library is closed today for the No Place for Hate training. The cafeteria is open as a quiet study space for students with a free period.
Dia de los Muertos: Attention everyone! Latinx Student Union wants to invite YOU to celebrate Día de los muertos, or “Day of the dead,” with a field trip to Maude Kerns Art Center on Friday, November 4. Stop by Room 29 to pick up a permission slip, but hurry- permission slips are due TOMORROW, Friday October 28, at 2:30 pm in Room 29.
AP Exam fees due: For all of those wanting to take an AP exam this May the AP Exam Fee Window is Now Open. Please go to the AP Website for the SchoolPay link which can be found under the Academics Tab on the SESH website. This needs to be done by November 11th or an exam will not be ordered for you.
Scholarship Spotlight: The Voice of Democracy is a local competition for Eugene-area high schoolers. Submit a 3- to 5-minute audio recording discussing the prompt, “Why is the Veteran Important?” This submission is due next Monday, October 31st. Check out the scholarships page on South’s website for more scholarship info.
College visits: It’s another big week in the world of college visits. Today, come to the career center to meet reps Willamette and Linfield. See you there!
GSA: GSA will meet Friday at lunch in room 706. All are welcome!
Intramural Soccer: Intramural soccer is TODAY at lunch. Pull up to the turf for massive action, massive drama, and massive goals. The Tallyman is playing Stugov, and Coach Helen’s Cool People are playing the Big Dawgs. Come and have a good time!
Costume Contest: Hey South, do you love Halloween? If so, get your costume ready because our costume contest is next week! Monday is Halloween and stugov will be hosting a fun costume contest in the back of the cafeteria during lunch. Wear your best costume and show it off to win one of our fabulous prizes! Scan one of the QR codes around the school to enter the contest.
