Career Center: For seniors of Hispanic heritage, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund awards $500 to $5,000 based on merit and financial need. Apply by 2/15.

 

And for SEHS seniors planning to major in business at UO, the Ehrman V. Giustina Scholarship awards varying amounts based on merit and possibly financial need. Apply by 2/17.

Student Government: If you are a senior, pick up a template to design the class of 2020 senior sweatshirts. And if you’re not a senior you can still enter! There will also be new school-wide merch that you can submit a design for. Submit your design by February 14th.

 

Need some formal attire for winter formal this Saturday? Come to the counseling office to shop around RIGHT NOW and all day today until 4:00pm.

 

Today for Black History Month we are featuring Oprah Winfrey for fighting racism and oppression. Oprah is an American actress, talk show host, television producer, and activist. “Excellence is the best deterrent to racism or sexism.” -Oprah

 

Yearbook: Senior superlative nominations are available! Look for QR codes around the school and in your emails to take the survey and Nominate your top choices! Nominations will be open until Valentine’s day.

 

South Eugene Theater: House and Garden are two romantic farce comedies that are performed simultaneously in two theaters by a single cast of actors. Yes, you heard that right. House performs in the Little Theater while Garden performs in the Auditorium. See the plays in either order. Get tickets at South Eugene Theater.org

 

Athletic Department: Spring Sports Information Night will be on Wednesday, February 5th, at 6:00pm in the SEHS cafeteria. All students interested in participating in Track, Baseball, Softball, Tennis and Golf are invited to attend with their parents

 

Social Justice Leadership Class: The social leadership class is making a pop-up art installation that includes a collage. There will be a suggestion box in the library where you can contribute. They want to know what causes, movements or well-known activists inspire you. Your suggestions will be included in the project.
