Latinx Student Union: Come to Latinx Student Union today in room 29. It’s time to start our mural project! Hope to see you there!


LTD Student Transit Pass: Students don’t forget to visit the finance office during lunch today to sign up for the LTD TouchPass. You are now able to use your mobile device or an electronic tap card. Please download the “Touch Pass Transit” app prior to going to the finance office.


Seniors in Classic: Attention Seniors that are completing a Senior Experience as a piece of your personal learning requirement. You have been assigned a presentation time and location for February 7th. Check the Senior Experience webpage or the front lobby foyer where your exact time and location are posted.


Student Government: Intramural volleyball will be on the first week of February! Sign up with your friends or sports team with QR codes around the school and bathrooms.


Look Me in the Eye: Look Me in the Eye is a club for everyone. We meet Wednesdays in the back of the cafeteria for art, games, and other fun activities! Since we work in collaboration with South’s lifeskills program, this club is a great opportunity to meet people of all different abilities here at South! Look me in the eye is about inclusivity, and all are welcome. See you at lunch.


Career Center: Seniors with Spanish-speaking families: There will be a college-preparation event on Thursday, January 16th from 5 to 8 pm at the Eugene 4J District Office at 200 North Monroe Street. This program is for families of students needing help with college applications, financial aid, and the college admission process. The event will be in Spanish with English translation. It is free, and childcare will be available. For more information, visit the career center.


Hey seniors heading to the UO, there are two scholarships that may be right for you. The Presidential Scholarship awards $9,000 for 4 years and is merit and activity based. The Diversity Excellence Scholarship awards $6,500 for four years and is based on financial need, minority status, academics and extracurriculars. For both of these scholarships, apply for UO admission by 1/15 and for the scholarship by 1/31. Stop by the Career Center for more information. 


Math Club: Are you interested in participation in the AMC 10 or 12 math competition? Come to Math Club Wednesday at lunch in room 710 to sign up or to get more information. Spots are limited.


Model United Nations: Come join Model United Nations. We are looking for more delegates to join our club and to be part of our delegation at the statewide Model UN conference in April. This year we will be representing the countries Indonesia, Slovakia, and Lebanon. Global Politics, Human Rights, and Environment are just some of the topics you could debate at the Model UN conference. We meet Thursday’s during lunch in room 539. Come join us if you want to learn more about this exciting opportunity or contact IHS teacher Steve Smith for further information.


Philosophy Club: Philosophy club will be exploring “A Quiet Place” and scientific propaganda in room 534, in the IHS hall, during lunch. Join us for presentations and nonsense Wednesday!


South Kitchen: Join us today for our wholesome parmesan pasta with chicken or tofu along with delicious Kale cranberry salad. And for tomorrow, warm up with BBQ baked chicken, roasted potatoes and a breadstick.
