Class of 2021 Counseling Information

Hello Class of 2021!

Many of you are working on your college applications right now, which is very exciting, but I’m sure a bit stressful as well.  Please see below for steps and tools to help you with the process.  You will need to be logged into your 4j google doc to get access to most of the google forms.

1st Step: On StudentVue please review your course history and schedule to make sure there are no mistakes and that you’re scheduled for everything you need for graduation and your post high school plans.  If you think you are in need of an additional course this year please contact your counselor.  If you see something missing or an error on your transcript please contact our registrar, Melinda Shull at shull@4j.lane.edu.

2nd Step:  Have a Senior Interview or refer to the Senior Interview Newsletter to learn about the tools we will use to assist you in this process. You will learn about the College Materials Request form and things like scholarships, college presentations and the FAFSA.  You can do everything you need for college admissions without having a Senior Interview but a Senior Interview is a great time to get individual guidance from your counselor.  You can sign up for a Senior Interview with our scheduling program found here.  If you need assistance with anything regarding the college application process please visit us during Live Chat hours every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-3:00. You can find the purple live chat bubble in the corner.

3rd Step:  Complete the multi-step process found on the SEHS College Material Request Form (CMRF), to document what you need from your counselor and to learn how to request a teacher recommendation and transcript.  After the initial transcript request, you can go directly to the Transcript Request Form Here for midyear (after Fall term) and final transcript.  The counselors will refer to the College Material Request Form and Transcript Request entries to learn about your college application needs and deadlines.  Please do your best to submit this form at least two weeks prior to your first deadline.  We will send your requested materials electronically through Naviance.  If you would like a letter of recommendation from a teacher you will need to contact them directly but they too will send your materials through Naviance.  If you are requesting a community member to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf, please refer to this Recommender Common App page.

You can find the Class of 2021 class size and other SEHS data on our SEHS School Profile.

We have Live Support to help with the college admissions process.  Every Tuesday and Thursday counselors are available from 1:30-3:00 to answer any questions you may have.  Please notice the purple Live Chat bubble in the corner of this page.

If you would like to e-mail your counselor or our counseling secretary, Leann Hollenbeak, refer to our Counseling Department webpage here for contact information.

If you are a SEHS alumni, please refer to our registrar, Melinda Shull, and this webpage, for your transcript needs.
