ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TUESDAY FEBRUARY 28 _________________________________________________________________

MOCK TRIAL: Attention Mock Trial team members. We’ll have a short meeting on Wed, Mar. 1 to plan a team dinner to celebrate your great performance at the regional competition. We’ll meet in rm. 203 at 3:30 PM for no more than 15 mins. Again, Mock Trial team, please meet in 203 at the end of the school day on Mar. 1.

SCHEDULE CHANGES: Need a trimester 3 schedule change, complete the Google form that opens Wednesday, March 1st! Scan the QR posted in counseling and around the school. All schedule change requests must be submitted thru the form. Then keep an eye on your schedule and your email for updates. 

YOUTH TRADES ACADEMY: The 2023 Youth Trades Academy is accepting applications until March 7th. This seven-week program gives juniors and seniors an introduction to the skills necessary for an apprenticeship or employment in the sheet metal, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical trades. Apply soon to secure your spot. If you have any questions about the program, please drop by the career center in room 7, or email Lori Sauter.

BIPOC: BIPOC student leaders meeting in room 25 during lunch today. We will be making decisions on our video/ poster project for this year so please come if you’d like to be part of the decision-making. I will have dessert.

MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY…MONAAAY: Show Me the Money!! Seniors, this is the name of a list of scholarship tips you were emailed a couple weeks ago. If you need money for school next year, look back at your emails from Lori Sauter, or see me in room 7 for more information.

WRITING CLUB: Do you like creating art or letter writing? Get volunteer hours during lunch by joining the Letters For Rose club! Letters For Rose meets during lunch today and every Tuesday in room 408.

CHESS: Congratulations to our chess team!  This past week the Chess team won first place at the Midwestern league district games and the Varsity second place at the Oregon State team chess championship. The chess team meets every Thursday in the physics lab, room 415L. We are currently preparing for the State individual championships this April. Come join us for a fun and competitive chess experience.

DRAMA: South Eugene Theater presents: 9 to 5! 9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. WRITING: Are you a writer or artist who wants to see your work published? Then submit your story, poem, or artwork for publication in South Eugene’s literary magazine, Figure of Speech! Use the QR codes in the flyers around school, or check in with your English teacher.

INTRAMURAL: Tomorrow is the semifinal of intramural volleyball and it will be neato. Come to the gym at lunch tomorrow/today to cheer on your peers because it will be dandy!!! There will be much ballin’ present!
