Announcements for September 14th

COVID tests: If you signed up for the University of Oregon’s COVID test program, please pick up your tests in the front office.

BIPOC Students: Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Student Leaders will be meeting Friday in room 25 during lunch. This is open to any interested BIPOC students who want to take on a leadership role representing our BIPOC community. Bring your lunch and I will bring dessert.

College Visit: South Eugene is hosting a special college visit tonight. Brown, Columbia, University of Chicago, and Vanderbilt will be in the auditorium at 7pm. There’s an RSVP link in the newsletter that went out on Friday.

College & Career Center: This is your friendly reminder from the College and Career Center to read South’s e-newsletter, which is emailed to all families at the end of each week. The last section of the newsletter is filled with Career Center opportunities for planning for your life after high school.

PSAT: Sophomores and Juniors! All sophomores and those juniors who opt in will take the PSAT on October 12. You can pick up a study guide in the front office or the career center. The career center also has a few PSAT prep books to check out, and the Khan Academy’s free SAT prep program works great for PSAT prep, too.

South Eugene Theater: Today and tomorrow after school join South Eugene Theater and audition for our fall shows, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley and Night of the Living Dead. Come to the auditorium lobby at 3:30, no experience or preparation needed.

Counseling Center: South Eugene High School academic planners are available in the counseling center. If you’d like a planner, stop by the counseling office anytime this week.
