Career Center:Seniors! Several local scholarships are coming up this month! The Masonic Lodge is offering a $3,000 award to a SEHS student involved in the community and planning to attend an Oregon school. Apply by 3/11.

 

Zonta is awarding $1,000 to local 16- to 19-year-old women who volunteer in their community and participate in their student government. Requires 3.0 GPA. Apply by 3/20.

 

The Earl Hulstrom Masonic Lodge scholarship is giving ten Eugene seniors $1,500 who are going to an Oregon school. Requires a 3.0 GPA. Apply by 3/20.

Writing Club: Writing club meets today and every Friday at lunch in room 504!

 

NHS: National Honors Society application packets will be available March 4th, in the College and Career Center. If you are a sophomore or junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher, and exhibit qualities in scholarship, character, leadership, and service, swing by the Career Center and pick up a packet. The deadline for submission is April 2nd.

 

Feminist Union: Today’s empowering women is Emily Evans. In 2014, Evans became the first executive director of the Women’s Foundation of Oregon. This foundation is the only public foundation in Oregon made up entirely of women and it focuses on the well-being of women. This organization has a statewide twelve-stop tour which is called “Listen to Her” which works to report the state of women and girls in Oregon.
