Latinx Student Union: Come to room 29 at lunch today to help work on our mural! All are welcome and hope to see you there!

 

LTD Student Transit Pass: If you have not signed-up for the new LTD transit pass and wish to do so, come to the gym lobby TOMORROW from 2-4pm to sign up!

 

Career Center:Attention Seniors looking for scholarships! More local scholarships are on the horizon! Local money is easier to win than national scholarships. The Harrington Scholarship awards four renewable awards of $4,000, totaling $16,000, to Oregon seniors with financial need planning to attend an Oregon school. It considers community involvement over academic or athletic achievements. Apply by 3/6.

 

And the Masonic Lodge is offering a $3,000 award to a SEHS student involved in the community and planning to attend an Oregon school. Ideal GPA is between 3.0 and 3.5. Apply by 3/11. Be sure to check out the South website for more on these and other local scholarships. 

 

NHS: National Honors Society will meet TODAY at 12:25 in the little theater. This meeting will replace last week’s meeting and make sure to check in with your group leader for attendance.

 

National Honors Society application packets will be available March 4th, in the College and Career Center. If you are a sophomore or junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher, and exhibit qualities in scholarship, character, leadership, and service, swing by the Career Center and pick up a packet. The deadline for submission is April 2nd.

 

Look Me in the Eye: Look me in the eye is a club for everyone. We meet every Wednesday in the back of the cafeteria for art, games, and other fun activities! Since we work in collaboration with South’s Life Skills program, this club is a great opportunity to meet people of all different abilities here at south! Look me in the eye is about inclusivity, and all are welcome. See you at lunch!

 

Philosophy Club: We will be meeting today in room 534 for nonsense Wednesday! Come to the IHS hall during lunch to propose and discuss any topic!

 

Feminist Union: Today’s empowering women is Judge Mercedes Deiz, the first black women to practice law in Oregon. After admitted to the bar she was appointed district court judge in 1960 and in 2000 she was recognized with the Merit of Honor.

 

South Kitchen: Come check out our creamy chicken or tempeh alfredo bowtie pasta served with a dinner roll. Featured in the salad bar will be our fresh Italian white bean salad with cucumbers and peppers. Also featured today is our tasty taco salad.
