Career Center: If you are a sophomore interested in the STEM fields, keep listening! Applications are now being accepted for the Western Aerospace Scholars Program. This free program includes a two-month online course and a three-day summer program. It’s a great chance to explore the science behind outer space and space travel. Applications are due on Valentine’s Day. Come to the career center, or look in the school’s e-newsletter to learn more.
Juniors, your Junior Project is waiting for you in the career center! Come git ‘er done before it’s too late. And, yes, it is possible to be too late. Students have missed out on serious scholarships and education opportunities by delaying their projects too long…
Attention Seniors looking for scholarships! There are several local scholarships coming up. Local money is easier to win than national scholarships. One local scholarship from Southtowne Rotary is offering $3,000 to four Eugene area students attending an Oregon public school. Apply by 2/21. Be sure to check out the South website for more on this and other local scholarships.
Student Government: If you are a senior, pick up a template to design the class of 2020 senior sweatshirts. And if you’re not a senior you can still enter! There will also be a school-wide merch that you can submit a design for. Submit your design by February 14th.
Valograms are being sold in the main hall. It is $1for a chocolate candy heart or conversation heart, and they will be distributed during 2nd period on valentine’s day.
Black Student Union: We are having a Black History Month Black Student Union pizza party on Tuesday, February 11th, in room 204. All students are welcome.
Self Care Club: Brought to you by self care club, there will be a useful tip every Monday for yourself-care needs. This Monday’s tip is to make sure you get enough exercise and activity. Being active helps boost chemicals in your brain that help put you in a good mood.
