Career Center: If you are a sophomore interested in the STEM fields, keep listening! Applications are now being accepted for the Western Aerospace Scholars Program. This free program includes a two-month online course and a three-day summer program. It’s a great chance to explore the science behind outer space and space travel. Applications are due on Valentine’s Day. Come to the career center, or look in the school’s e-newsletter to learn more.

Juniors, your Junior Project is waiting for you in the career center! Come git ‘er done before it’s too late. And, yes, it is possible to be too late. Students have missed out on serious scholarships and education opportunities by delaying their projects too long…

Any South students who are interested in a career in criminal justice should consider attending Criminal Justice Careers Day at Western Oregon University on March 4. The program includes a career opportunities panel, a criminal justice career fair, and campus tours. Seniors who bring a complete admissions application to the program can find out, at the end of the program, whether they were accepted to the school. Come to the career center for more information.

Student Government: If you are a senior, pick up a template to design the class of 2020 senior sweatshirts. And if you’re not a senior you can still enter! There will also be a school-wide merch that you can submit a design for. Submit your design by February 14th.

Winter Formal is tomorrow! Make sure to buy tickets today in the main hallway before school, during lunch, and after school.

South Eugene Theater: House and Garden are two romantic farce comedies that are performed simultaneously in two theaters by a single cast of actors. Yes, you heard that right. House performs in the Little Theater while Garden performs in the Auditorium. See the plays in either order. Get tickets at South Eugene Theater.org

Classic Seniors: If you’re completing a Senior Experience you are expected to attend the Senior Experience Showcase TODAY. Check the website or the printed materials in the front lobby for your exact time.

Social Justice Leadership Class: The social leadership class is making a pop-up art installation that includes a collage. There will be a suggestion box in the library where you can contribute. They want to know what causes, movements or well-known activists inspire you. Your suggestions will be included in the project.
