-Student volunteers are needed for Mike Bellotti’s Toast to Strength Gala. The gala will take place on Thursday, May 9th, and volunteers are needed from 4-10 pm at Autzen Stadium. There will be a volunteer training this Friday, April 26th. Funds raised send children with physical disabilities to a specially adapted statewide summer camp in Salem. -Edgewood Elementary School Fun Night is this Friday, April 26th, from 5:15-8 pm. They are seeking volunteers to work at simple carnival games and help them have fun and raise funds for the school. If you are interested, please visit the Career Center.
-Interested in going to college abroad? The University of Edinburgh will be at the Career Center on Monday, April 29th at 8:30 am. Located in Scotland this university was founded in 1582! Come learn about their programs.
-Seniors: 4j Honors service logs are due to the Counseling Office by May 1st. If you have any questions please see Melinda in Counseling.
-Classic Juniors: There will be a “Rising Senior” meeting this Friday, April 26th, after school, in the Auditorium. Counselors will be going over important graduation requirements and information. This is a required meeting and should last around 45 minutes.
-ASB Student Government applications are available in the office and will be due on May 8th. Class election applications will be available at a later date.
BSU: There is a State of Emergency Conference at Lane Community College this Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm for African American families, students and allies. This conference will inform participants about House bill 2106 State of Emergency, for African American students. Lunch is provided. See Gregory Dunkin for more information.
South Eugene Theater: “The Siegel,” directed by Jared Menegat, runs this Thursday through Saturday. Cunning and energetic, Ethan Siegel makes an unusually persistent attempt to win his ex-girlfriends hand in marriage. This fast-paced romantic comedy start at 7 pm in the little theater. Steps Toward Change: There is a community Equity forum on Thursday, May 2nd at 5:30 pm at the 4J district office. It will celebrate the Historical Perspectives and Traditions of the Native Hawaiian Community. The forum is in English with ASL and Spanish interpreting.
