Career Center:

-The SAIL Program at the U of O is now accepting applications from current 9th through 11th graders. SAIL offers FREE week-long summer programs that include fun mini academic courses and college-prep guidance. For more information, go to sail.uoregon.edu or come to the career center.

-The Rotary 4-Way Test Speech Contest is open to all high-school students and involves writing a 5-7 minute speech to present at the Southtowne Rotary Club on Today, April 11th at noon. Winners will advance to higher levels with the opportunity for cash and other prizes. For more information, visit the career center.

-Are you a senior who is in the first generation of your family to attend college?  If so, consider applying for one of two $1,000 scholarships being offered by 4J MAPS.  Apply by April 12th. Drop by the Career Center for more information or check out the South website.

 

Counseling Office:  AP students:  The first Pre-Administration meeting is this Friday, April 12th, right after school in the Cafeteria.  This is mandatory if you plan on taking an AP exam in May. If you have any questions please see Melinda in the Counseling Office.

 

Basketball Ping Pong:  Want something to do at lunch?  Come to the gym for ping pong on Mondays and Wednesdays and Basketball on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

 

SEHS Pétanque Club:  Looking for a fun, relaxed and easy sport?  Then Pétanque is the sport for you. Filled with great snacks and fun, our practices are after school Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Pétanque field behind the cafeteria.  No experience needed! Hope to see you there!

 

The Axe Pageant:  The Axe Pageant is this Friday at 7:30 pm in the auditorium.  Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults. Come support us and the Children’s Miracle Network, it’ll be a great show!

 

Seniors:  If you are planning to attend LCC next fall, South offers the LCC Placement test April 12th and 19th at 2:45 pm in room 4.  Sign up in the Career Center and check the information about testing. See Kathy Ruggles in room 302 for details.

 

Advisory: Students who have a free 2nd period have been assigned an advisory teacher. Please check the yellow sheets posted around the campus and the main office for your Advisory teacher and location.
