Feminist Union: This March, Feminist Union is celebrating Women’s History Month with information about influential women from history and present day. Today’s empowering woman is Rosalind Franklin. Rosalind Franklin is known for her work on the X-ray diffraction images of DNA which led to the breakthrough discovery of the DNA double helix. After Franklin’s death, caused by overexposure to radioactivity, Franklin’s colleagues James Watson and Francis Crick received a Nobel prize for work stolen from Franklin. Even though Rosalind Franklin died before she was recognized, she changed the scientific world forever and is now an inspiration for all women in the field.
