Career Center:  

-Seniors enrolling at LCC next fall:  Take your Reading/Writing Placement test at South this Friday at 5:45 in room 4.  Sign up in the Career Center. Bring your L number and photo ID to the test.

-Registration for College Now classes has been extended to Friday, March 8th.  See Kathy Ruggles in room 302 for assistance.


Feminist Union:  This March, Feminist Union is celebrating Women’s History Month with information about influential women from history and present day.  Today’s empowering woman is Alice Walker, an American author and activist, who is well known for her novel, The Color Purple. Alice Walker began her career in activism in the Civil Rights Movement, participating in the March on Washington. Walker was an important figure in advocating for the rights of women of color.  Her dedication to the rights of women of color can be sighted as one of the main reasons intersectionality in feminism has grown.


Olympic Lifting Club:  Are you wishing to become stronger, faster, or more explosive?  Improve your flexibility and general fitness? If you’re thinking “yes” to any of these questions-you should join South’s Olympic Lifting Club.  Coached by University of Oregon instructors, South Eugene’s Olympic Lifting Club meets in the weight room on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:45 with workouts ending at 6:00 pm.  For more information contact Mr. Kessler in room 113 or by


Mock Trial:  Congratulations to the South Eugene Mock Trial Club who completed their successful season with a strong showing at the regional competition.  Thank you to all the students who participated!


BSU:  This is the South Eugene Black Student Union, letting all South students interested in the AAYLC field trip know that permission slips will be available in room 204.  BSU members and representatives will also be visiting classes to talk about the field trip so stay tuned!
